Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of lifafa (the "Service"), accessible at giftlifafa.in. By creating, sending, or claiming a lifafa, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What lifafa is
lifafa lets a sender send money to a recipient as a personalised digital gift — with a note, a theme, and an opening animation — instead of a plain bank transfer. The sender pays through our payment partner, and the recipient claims the amount directly to their own bank account via UPI. lifafa does not hold, store, or have access to any funds at any point; all money movement is processed by our regulated payment partner, Cashfree Payments.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to send a lifafa.
- You must hold a valid Indian bank account and UPI ID to claim a lifafa.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide, including the recipient's name and your own UPI ID at the time of claiming.
3. Sending a lifafa
When you send a lifafa, you authorise a payment for the amount you specify through Cashfree Payment Gateway. Once payment is successfully collected, a claim link is generated and is your responsibility to share with the intended recipient. You may optionally lock a lifafa with an OTP (sent to the recipient's mobile or email) or a secret question, to ensure only the intended recipient can claim it.
4. Claiming a lifafa
The recipient of a claim link can open it, verify their identity if the sender has locked it, and enter a UPI ID to receive the money. Payouts are processed via Cashfree Payouts directly to the UPI ID provided by the recipient. lifafa is not responsible for payouts sent to an incorrect UPI ID entered by the recipient.
5. Fees
lifafa does not currently charge the sender or recipient any service fee beyond the gift amount itself. This may change in the future, and any change will be clearly communicated before you complete a payment.
6. Prohibited use
- Using lifafa for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, terror financing, or fraud.
- Attempting to circumvent claim locks, OTP verification, or payout validation.
- Sending or claiming amounts on behalf of a person without their knowledge or consent.
7. Service availability
lifafa is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for high reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we are not liable for delays or failures caused by our payment partner, banking networks, or the UPI system.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, lifafa's liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount of the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
